Following on from two very successful homecomings in Tiree in 2006 & 2016 we are planning the third A’ Bhuain in 2027. In the past we have welcomed people from many countries across the world including Canada, America, Switzerland, New Zealand, South Africa and our home countries too. We hope we can attract a similar diaspora to the event in 2027.

From the small island of Tiree the diaspora spread throughout the world but many decendants of these pioneers still feel the pull of the island and A’ Bhuain, the homecoming, is a great way to meet like minded people and perhaps find some unknown relatives.

The week long event is in its initial planning stage but the Programme is taking shape and we hope that there will be something of interest for everyone therein.

The hub of the event will be in the community hall, An Talla, where there will be classes in Singing and Dancing, Talks, Concerts, Films, Ceilidhs and Dances and as well as all that there will be visits to places of interest on the island. The historical museum, An Iodhlann, will be open every day where you can browse and get help with your family tree.

Lunches will be available each day with a complimentary Buffet on Monday at the Opening Ceremony. We also hope to have a pop up meal available each evening in An Talla.

Loganair operates an air service to Tiree from Glasgow, Hebridean Air Services flies out of Connel Airport and Calmac operates the ferry service from Oban.

There are a couple of Guest Houses and many holiday houses for rent on Tiree and you can get information on these at - isleoftiree.com.

There are many activities on Tiree outwith the planned programme like windsurfing, surfing, sea tours and many more which we will advertise more fully at a later date.

If you are planning on being here for A’ Bhuain please bring your stories with you ready to share them with your fellow attendees.

The committee is busy planning the event for your enjoyment so now is the time for you to plan your trip to A’ Bhuain. For local Co op members, the committee would really appreciate if you would choose A’ Bhuain (Tiree Homecoming) from the choices in the Local Community Fund - you can do this on your Co op App and each time you shop at the Co op you will be helping to raise funds for A' Bhuain.
